If you are a true fashionista you know that the top staple for accessorizing is your purse! A woman’s hand bag is her best friend, the one she can count on to keep all of her secrets—no matter how many there may be! So, now that Spring 2015 has finally blossomed, it’s time we discuss the hand bag trends of the season. Whimsical, feminine, color-block, and more, this year’s spring handbags are ones that are fun, fashionable and stylish. With cross-body carryalls, tote bags, and classy clutches, we are seeing a ton of fresh approaches to some timeless looks.
This season there is a new shape to things, in the literal sense! Round, hand held clutches and cross-body styles are cropping up like wildflowers! It’s a great and easy way to add a little ‘Avant garde’ to your everyday look. Lady like structure brings to the season fun takes on average shapes. From a slim, squared off clutch to lean and clean boxy bags done up in rectangles—it’s really ok to be “a square”!
CROSS BODY CONVENIENCE
Remember these shoulder crossing bags from the 90s? Well, they are back with flair! Spring welcomes this retro trend with loving arms in a saddlebag inspired design. The runway showcases structured shapes with 70s fringe and suede.
Spring florals are in the bag—in demure, moody iterations that buck the standard garden variety trend. Be it a Warhol rendition of a daisy or a misprinted rose palette, florals of all shapes and sizes are welcome to the wardrobe this season!
GET A GRIP!
The Spring 2015 runway showcased innovative approaches to how to hold the things you carry. Clutches with wristlets and hang straps are the next big thing! Anything with a handle or strap is a go! It’s easy to tote to cocktail parties and even better as a daytime bag when you are trying to juggle your daily effects.
These large bags are all the rage! The classic shape of this roomy staple is coming in all different forms this season. Anything with a wow factor is a great way to go. Metallics, prints, and graphics pair nicely with the larger canvas of these bags that will hold any and everything! (We are also seeing some dressy duffles come into play, sporting elongated shapes and a more polished appeal than your typical gym bag.)
Designers are elevating the bucket style bag for spring, leaning towards a more slouchy bag, finished in prints, cut outs, perforated leather, and a high shine factor! The dynamic of sheen and texture has completely redefined the silhouette of this oldie but goodie.
As we have seen so far for this Spring in other realms of fashion, in the hand bag world, designers everywhere are redesigning what is already considered must haves and trendy! In line with those classic shoulder bags, crossover styles and rucksacks, 2015 bag trends bring back the 1970s shapes, the iconic bucket bag reinvented and designs decorated with floral patterns and edgy cut outs. Dare to be different this Spring!
